Can Epoxy.com Epoxy Tile Grout and Epoxy Tile Adhesive be added to
conventional grout?

Q: “Can I add Epoxy.com Tile Grout and Tile Adhesive
to my own tile grout?”

Norm Lambert: No, sorry! 
Epoxy.com Product #225  is Water
Cleanable Tile Grout and Tile Adhesive is water cleanable not water based. 
Epoxy.com Product #225 is 100% solids epoxy that
is mixed with select strong dry fillers to give you a true 100% solids epoxy
grout.  Epoxy.com Product #225 contains no
Portland Cement.  Epoxy.com Product #225 is
waterproof and highly stain and chemical resistant.
Epoxy.com Product #225  will not support mold and mildew growth.
Bottom line is that Epoxy.com Product #225 is as
easy to maintain (perhaps even easier) as the tile you are grouting and/or
bonding with it. Epoxy.com Product #225 comes in
regular grade as well as wall grade.

A customer Asks: “I am looking to do my bar top.  Can I stain it with polyurethane before I install Epoxy.com Product #214  100% Solids Epoxy Casting Tabletop and Bar Top Resin?”

Answer: It is always better to bond the Epoxy.com Product #214100% Solids Epoxy Casting Tabletop and Bar Top Resin directly to the substrate so you will get the strongest possible bond.  However, if you must stain you should use a stain that does not waterproof the substrate.  Of course you should always do a mockup if you plan to use any kind of stain.  Some people like to use Epoxy.com Product #1  a two component, zero (0) VOC, 100% solids epoxy Hi-Build epoxy coating as a pigmented background. That way you have the strength of Epoxy, while getting a background color.

Are Epoxy.com 100% Solid Products Green?

How Environmentally Friendly Are Epoxy.com Products?

Q: I am looking for information on the environmental impact of epoxy products, and since there seems to be very little useful information on the internet, I thought I should just ask a professional.

Epoxy.com’s 100% solid products (which are most of your product line) are included in many “Green” buildings.  The logic for that is this:

  1. Epoxy.com 100% solid products have 0 VOCs.  So you are reducing the carbon emissions. 
  2. Typical Epoxy.com 100% solid systems have done their job for decades, and there is no reason to believe they will not last for decades more.  I personally have jobs that I installed with them that go back as much as a third of a century, that are not even starting to show signs that they will need replacement.  That is the ultimate in reuse.
  3. There is no need to recycle a product that can be reused for decades.

 
Epoxy.com encourages our customers to order material as they need it and to use all their materials before their expiration.  That is why we do not require large stocking orders from new dealers, like most other companies.  We want our customers to use up material they buy from us and not have any for it run out of shelf life.  However, if Epoxy.com products do run out of shelf life, they are typically mixed and cured before disposal as inert common trash.
