Q: "I have an application for a seamless floor, approximately 200
sq feet. Requirements also include coved wall edge with a 4inch wall
coverage. Chemical resistance of bleach+water mixture for cleaning
purposes. Present site is a concrete substrate with industrial
linoleum tile which is strongly adhered. Is the product #15 suitable
for this application? Can the product be applied directly overtop
linoleum after a TSP chemical cleanse? If not is there a suitable
primer recommended or does the original flooring have to be
removed?"

Norm Lambert: The answer is yes and no. Yes Epoxy.com
Product #15
Seamless Epoxy Flooring will easily hold up to
the bleach and water.  However, I never recommend going over
linoleum.  First of all it will need extensive surface
preparation, but most importantly if the tile comes up so does your
Epoxy.com Product #15
Seamless Epoxy Flooring. If it is concrete under the tile, I recommend removal of the tile, removal of the mastic, and cleaning of the concrete.
If it is over wood you may want to consider a new plywood overlay. If you can handle the height you can install 1/2 inch plywood directly over the tile. If height is an issue
you will want to remove the floor down to the floor joists and reinstall 3/4 inch AC plywood. See
Epoxy.com Surface Preparation Guide for more details.

A customer Asks: “I am looking to do my bar top.  Can I stain it with polyurethane before I install Epoxy.com Product #214  100% Solids Epoxy Casting Tabletop and Bar Top Resin?”

Answer: It is always better to bond the Epoxy.com Product #214100% Solids Epoxy Casting Tabletop and Bar Top Resin directly to the substrate so you will get the strongest possible bond.  However, if you must stain you should use a stain that does not waterproof the substrate.  Of course you should always do a mockup if you plan to use any kind of stain.  Some people like to use Epoxy.com Product #1  a two component, zero (0) VOC, 100% solids epoxy Hi-Build epoxy coating as a pigmented background. That way you have the strength of Epoxy, while getting a background color.
